Chocolates and wine for the perfect romantic gift

If you need to send a romantic gift to someone for their birthday, anniversary, or just to let them know they're special why not choose a bottle of the finest wine that you can share together, or a big box of chocolates. If they're a really special person, you'll splash out and buy chocolates and wine!

Treat her to her favourite perfume

If you're wondering what her favourite perfume is, give her an all-time classic with something in the range from Chanel; Chanel's perfumes have style, elegance and class, a fragrance that others will admire, and a design that has a sophisticated understatement.

Sweep her off her feet with your proposal

Whether it's just a quiet night in, a special birthday treat or whether you really are going to ask her to marry you, you can't go far wrong with sitting down together to watch a good romantic film.

Roses are red, Violets are Blue

Roses are red

This year is a leap year

So I'll marry you

Surprise her with a diamond engagement ring

In a leap year, a girl can propose on 29th February

Tradition has it that in a leap year, it is socially acceptable for a girl to propose to her loved one. It is a tradition said to have been initiated by St Patrick on 5th century Ireland, but there is little evidence that this was the start of the tradition.

Girls can be inventive in presenting the marriage proposal. A bouquet of flowers sent to the workplace might be a bit unusual. Why not send a bottle of champagne, with your proposal message? Or leave a note where he will least expect it, but can't miss it, such as in his shoe, on the TV screen or bathroom mirror? Why not have the groceries delivered and arrange his favourite foods to be presented for a slap-up meal while you ask the question. Take him to a nice restaurant or hotel and book the best table or room. Hire a limo or sports car. Get tickets for his favourite band or sports team. If you're really clever, why not arrange a stunt like this to ask that all important question - "Will you marry me?"
